I am a soldier, want to redeem Punjab’s glory: AAP’s CM face Bhagwant Mann


AAP’s chief ministerial candidate for Punjab Bhagwant Mann said he is a “soldier” and wants to redeem the glory of Punjab.

After he was announced the chief ministerial candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the Punjab Assembly election, Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday said he is a “soldier” and he wants to redeem the glory of Punjab.

“I always said I am a soldier. I always said I can do the duty of a poster boy as long as Punjab CM,” Bhagwant Mann said.

Bhagwant Mann said his life changed when he entered politics. “When I used to do comedy, people always smiled at me when I used to meet them. Now people have hope in me. They cry when they see me and say save us,” Mann said.

“I used to tell them that God is there to save us. I can only be the medium,” he added.

Quoting former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Bhagwant Mann said he

dreams of bringing the glory of Punjab back and these dreams don’t let him sleep.

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal congratulated Bhagwant Mann on being elected the CM face of the party for Punjab.

“I congratulate Sardar Bhagwant Mann on being declared CM face of AAP in Punjab. Whole Punjab is looking upto AAP as a hope. Its a huge responsibility and I am sure Bhagwant will bring back smile on the face of every Punjabi,” Kejriwal said in a tweet.
